A Journey Through India

Inspired by India’s extraordinary biodiversity and the symbolism woven throughout its cultural heritage, the collection brings together a carefully considered palette of native flora, fauna and meaningful motifs. The intention was to explore a visual narrative that felt distinctive to Sachins, moving beyond familiar representations to create something more layered, atmospheric and unexpected.

Nature sits at the heart of the concept. Through biophilic design, the murals introduce the restorative qualities of the natural world, using abundant greenery, water and wildlife to create a sense of connection, wellbeing and harmony. Alongside this, the artwork was developed to complement Sachins’ existing identity, balancing its cultural references with the restaurant’s contemporary interiors.

Symbolic details are woven throughout the scenes, from the lotus flower and its associations with spiritual awakening to the peacock, jasmine, banyan tree and native Indian wildlife. Each element contributes to the wider narrative, rewarding closer inspection while allowing the artwork to be experienced intuitively as a whole.

The Outcome

The completed concept brings together storytelling, cultural reference and biophilic design to create an environment that feels immersive, distinctive and deeply connected to Sachins’ identity.

By treating the restaurant as a journey rather than a collection of individual spaces, the scenic wallpapers establish a visual narrative that evolves with the guest experience. Colour, pattern and symbolism work in harmony with the interior finishes, creating moments of discovery throughout the restaurant and memorable backdrops that invite guests to capture and share their surroundings.

Ultimately, the ambition was to create a space where the artwork does more than decorate the interior. It transports guests, sparks curiosity and offers a contemporary interpretation of India’s extraordinary natural and cultural world.
