The design takes its cues from the fantastical spirit of Welsh folklore and the wider mythology of Britain, where heroes, warriors, enchanted kingdoms and mythical beasts have long captured the imagination. From the legendary sword Excalibur and the enduring tales surrounding King Arthur, to the fierce spirit of Boudica, the enchantment of Rhiannon and, naturally, the magnificent Welsh dragon, Fan Dance is a visual journey through a world where nothing is quite as it seems. Rich in narrative and symbolism, the design invites you to look closer and lose yourself amongst its layers. Ancient stories are reimagined through a contemporary decorative lens, creating a pattern that feels rooted in history while remaining entirely at home within modern interiors. There is a sense of drama running through Black Mountain a little mystery, a little magic and a healthy dose of the fantastical. It captures the majesty of landscapes shaped by centuries of folklore, where mountains, forests and valleys become the backdrop to stories of courage, rebellion, romance and wonder.
